Classes BEGINNING STAINED GLASS
INFORMATION
This course is a series of 5 classes to be held Wed. evenings from

www.karendeets.blogspot.com The class will cover the 2 basic techniques of lead and copper foil. Students will make 4 pieces including 2 simple freeform lead window pieces, 1 simple copper foil piece, and a rectangular copper foil panel. In order to complete all projects and get the maximum benefit of instruction, students should plan on doing work at home in between classes. Therefore, a suitable home work area should be prepared. Students must wear long pants and closed shoes, as well as safety goggles, which will be available for purchase. Safe work practices will be taught and practiced in the class. A mandatory safety and liability agreement must be read and signed. The minimum age for participation is 14. A non-refundable registration deposit of $30. will hold your place in the class. It will only be returned if the class is cancelled. A minimum of 2 is required to hold a class, with a maximum of 4. Class may be cancelled and rescheduled at Karen’s discretion in order to fill the class. Instruction cost: $95. must be paid in full 1 week before the first scheduled class. This will include use of tools and chemicals and materials to make the first project including your own steel glass cutter. Materials and Tools: Everything you need to get started will be included in the Basic Package for $160.
It will include an Inland 100 watt iron, iron holder, rheostat, grozing/breaking pliers, fid, bench brush, 12" L square, running pliers, 1 lb. 50/50 solder, flux, flux brush, black patina, 7/32" copper foil, finishing compound, cutter oil, grinding stone, black sharpie fine marker, and liquid silver pilot marker.
Or you can choose a Deluxe Package for $260. which will include a higher performance Weller SPG80 iron, heavy duty 8" running pliers, Toyo pistol grip carbide oil cutter, Morton block system,
Additional Materials: Glass and possibly some other items will be necessary and available to purchase as needed to complete your projects at an average cost of $20.to $60.
Major additional purchases such as a grinder must be ordered and prepaid.
BEGINNING STAINED GLASS REGISTRATION Instructional cost is $95. $30. deposit is required. If not paid in full, balance of $ 65. due 1 week before first class. The cost is $40. per hour. This would be a good way to refresh your skills if you have not done glass in a while, or if you have some experience and want to improve your skills. Beginning instruction is also available with a minimum of 6 hours to be prepaid.. Scheduling is very flexible and would take place at my Allentown studio.
SUPPLIES
I have available limited supplies to sell. Contact me with specific requests and I will let you know if I can help you. I can sometimes take orders if timing is right. I do not keep regular studio hours - appointment only. I have some used grinders in very good condition available for sale. The motors are nearly indestructable and may out live many of us! I also have lots of small scraps suitrable for mosaic work!
SMALL GROUP DAYTIME
A group of 3 to 4 people can be accomodated during the daytime at my private studio. Scheduling is flexible and can be done as needed. Costs are the same as the group classes at Bloomers.
INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED
INSTRUCTION
If there is interest, I am willing to schedule intermediate classes for 3-D projects.
Classes may be just one session or more. Possible projects:
