Contemporary![]() "Space Jewels"
March 2009
![]() "Brightly Jeweled", completed Jan. 20, 2009, was inspired by a small crystal jeweled pin by designer Patricia Locke. I created the design on a CAD program, "Glass Eye 2000". It was on exhibit at the Community Art Show at the Chairville School in Medford, from Jan. 26 to Feb. 6, 2009. It was part of a collection that was submitted to the Monmouth Museum for consideration in the NJ Emerging Artist Series.
The Crayola style colors of streakies, water glass and handblown glass create a bold and upbeat piece.
It is 15" in diameter.
It is currently for sale at Bloomers in Allentown.
The price is $350.
![]() This all clear piece has the feeling of sun and grass in an abstracted style.
It incorporates several textures including irridescent water glass, and painted fired pieces for the tips of the grass. It will be installed in a window in the peak of a 19th century house, creating an eclectic style. ![]() ![]() The above image is a detail of the piece at left, showing the true colors and textures of the glass used. At left is an image showing the difference as light and background changes.
This piece was made for Rae and Dan, a wedding gift for the daughter of Sandy, a friendly dedicated former employee of Off the Wall Craft Gallery.
